Old Datça

Eski Datça (meaning old Datça) is named after the old houses in the neighborhood. It’s history dates back to the 11th century BC. Old Datca presents a great visuality with its narrow, stone-paved streets surrounded by stone-built houses. One of the most popular poets of Turkey, Can Yücel, spent the last years of his life and passed away in this neighborhood.

Knidos Ancient City

The ancient city of Knidos was a highly developed city, the history of which goes back to the 3rd century BC. The city was an important trading port and has brought up the greatest mathematicians, painters and architects of history.

In Knidos Ancient City there was the famous Aphrodite Temple. In the middle of the temple was a statue of Aphrodite, which had a very high artistic value. But the sculpture was later destroyed. Today, only parts of the sculpture remain.
